Everyone keeps asking…especially the Concord area people…what is happening with the restaurant and when do you expect to open? Currently, I have preliminary drawings, and I am going to the planning board meeting tonight. We plan to keep the building, the former West Concord Supermarket, looking pretty much the same on the outside. We love the green and white awnings, and we will put in new double hung windows so that diners can sit next to the open windows.
We will need to go to the Board of Appeals, because we are asking for parking relief, zoning relief, (we are changing the use of the building), sewer relief, and relief from the West Concord law that says that a restaurant can only be 4000 square feet. We would like to use the whole building as the restaurant, which is 4800 square feet.
We hope to get approval from the Board of Appeals, and then we will need to design the kitchen and submit a menu to the Board of Health, and apply for our liquor license. We are applying for a full liquor license.
Once we have the all the approvals from Concord’s different agencies and the state, which also must approve the liquor license, we can break ground.
We are hoping to be open by next August 2014, at the latest.
I am a restaurant professional (40 years experience) and am very interested in your project. I don’t know how private this channel of contact is, so please contact me at your convenience. Thank you.
