Do you sleep soundly?  If not,  I would like to share with you my new discovery of an ancient oil that works wonders for me.

Sleep doesn’t really go along with the theme of Food…Farm and Film.  However, I have a young friend who is an herbalist who comes over to help me forage and make herbal tinctures for both my personal use and to explore different tea infusions we can use for drinks at the restaurant…and in the process she introduced me to an absolutely amazing oil that I had never heard of…Jatamansi.

She told me that it would help to put me into a “deep dream state” and I was very skeptical, but it sounded so good and it couldn’t hurt right?  So, I purchased some from the Fleurocopia website (not an affiliate link) and tried it as soon as it came.

The instructions were to put a few drops on your third eye, (the very middle of your forehead),  a few drops on your wrists, and a few drops on the bottom of your feet in the middle of the arches and go to bed.  It has a very strong smell.  Some immediately like it and others are startled by it and even dislike it.

I have been running around anointing people at my office, at the hockey rink, around my neighborhood with the oil to test people’s reactions and the feedback has been very powerful.  People are reporting wild dreams and/or very deep comatose like sleep.  For me, it doesn’t help me go to sleep but it makes me sleep deep and have deep dreams once I am asleep.  However, I really look forward to going to sleep every night and experiencing this incredibly deep sleep that eluded me before.

I do find it a little hard to wake up because the sleep is so deep and it feels so good, however, of course I have to just force myself and I feel great the entire day.  If you aren’t sleeping soundly, and so many of us aren’t, it’s incredible to feel what a great night of deep sleep does to your day.

So..try it!  If you are local I have been carrying it around so ask me for some to try and I will put a few drops in a cup for you to take home.   Otherwise, teas and oils are available online.  Jatamansi was used as a flavoring agent in ancient Roman cuisine, so that will be worth my looking into also.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!
